# How to change vehicle ownership and create invoice under new customer

To transfer the ownership of a vehicle from one person to another, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to **My Vehicles**.
2. Search and select the required vehicle.
3. Click on the **three-dot icon**.
4. Choose the **Change Ownership** option.
5. Select the new owner and save the changes.
Please note:
* Ownership can only be changed when the related repair order is either **invoiced** or **cancelled**.
* This means the order should be in the **Completed** or **Payment Due** stage.
Regarding the invoice:
* The invoice will always reflect the **owner name at the time of invoicing**.
* If ownership is changed after the invoice is generated, the **new owner name will not be updated** in the existing invoice PDF.
* This is because the vehicle was serviced and invoiced under the original owner.
**Alternative solution:**
If the invoice is required under the new owner’s name:
1. Cancel the existing repair order.
2. Create a new repair order under the new owner.
3. Generate the invoice again.
