How to change vehicle ownership and create invoice under new customer
To transfer the ownership of a vehicle from one person to another, please follow the steps below:
- Go to My Vehicles.
- Search and select the required vehicle.
- Click on the three-dot icon.
- Choose the Change Ownership option.
- Select the new owner and save the changes.
Please note:
- Ownership can only be changed when the related repair order is either invoiced or cancelled.
- This means the order should be in the Completed or Payment Due stage.
Regarding the invoice:
- The invoice will always reflect the owner name at the time of invoicing.
- If ownership is changed after the invoice is generated, the new owner name will not be updated in the existing invoice PDF.
- This is because the vehicle was serviced and invoiced under the original owner.
Alternative solution:
If the invoice is required under the new owner’s name:
- Cancel the existing repair order.
- Create a new repair order under the new owner.
- Generate the invoice again.
